Recurrent acute otitis media (rAOM; recurrent ear infections) is a common disease in childhood. We characterised the microbiome of rAOM-prone and rAOM-resistant children to identify novel pathogens and potentially protective commensal bacteria, which may guide the development of more effective therapies.
