On 26th June 2025 a variation application was lodged to offset the relinquishment requirement of 16 sub-blocks from EPC 1238 to EPC 1233. This was approved under the project status PROJ0309 on 22nd July 2025. On 30th July 2025 a voluntary relinquishment of 16 sub-blocks was lodged and the relinquishment was effective on the 7th August 2025. The actual programme of activities undertaken within the relinquished sub-blocks of EPC 1233 included data management and a desktop assessment. A decision was made to voluntarily relinquish the selected sub-blocks due to those areas not being deemed as economically viable for coal exploration.
