资源简介:
The rise in perceived political polarization and ideological divides in the U.S. leads to toxic political experiences. While past studies suggest that activities such as narrative writing and dialogue can reduce affective polarization, this study investigated what affects the willingness to participate in activities that can improve political well-being. In a survey of 146 U.S. college students, 53% reported experiencing political toxicity. Results showed that political toxicity and social media use did not impact willingness, whereas openness to opposing parties and political stereotyping positively predicted willingness to engage in well-being activities, offering insights to potentially reduce polarization.
