Monthly soil moisture anomalies over the eastern U.S. during the period January 2002-March 2017 with a spatial resolution of 0.5 degree; first three levels are the soil moisture anomalies interpolated to the depths of 1 m, 1.5 m and 2 m; the last level is the total column soil moisture anomaly.<br>
