Lysobacter sp. are known as prolific producers of bioactive natural products. The investigation of the bacterium Lysobacter sp. XL1 began in 2000. Genomic data clearly indicate that this strain belongs to the species L. caspsici. This study presents the description of the first de novo Lysobacter sp. XL1 draft genome assembly. Whole genome sequencing was provided by semiconductor technology.
