JODC Bathymetry Integrated Random Dataset (J-BIRD)

This data set consists of data digitized by JODC from various charts
and maps, including nautical charts, GEBCO sheets, basic maps of the
sea. The data includes soundings, bottom sediments, low water lines,
contour lines and coast lines. In addition, specific lines in the
charts such as construction area and fish agriculture area were
digitized since April 1993. Each data may be identified by the mark in
the first column of data record. As of April 1993, J-BIRD
has plotting sheets digitized for Charts and Basic Maps of the Sea at
a Scale of 1/10,000 or smaller for Coastal Area of Japan, and
GEBCO Sheets at a Scale of 1/1,000,000 for the Northwestern
Pacific of 0 to 48 Degrees North and 100 to 180 Degrees East.
