Variation of serum uric acid is associated with gut microbiota in patients of diabetes mellitus

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease which has already been proved to be closely related with disordered gut microbiome. These patients are usually complicated with various metabolic disorders such as increased serum uric acid (UA). Although serum UA level depends partially on intestine excretion, the association between UA and gut microbiome in DM patients remains unknown.
