The German Ageing Survey (DEAS) is a longitudinal survey for the analysis of life situations and biographies of people in the second half of their lives. The data is based on nationally representative surveying (cross-sectional and longitudinal) of some thousand participants from the age of 40 onwards.<br>The first DEAS survey wave took place in 1996, the second wave followed in 2002. The third wave of DEAS was conducted in 2008. In 2002, 2008, 2014, 2017 and 2020, previous participants have been re-surveyed (panel). In 2011 a panel-survey was conducted solely.<br>In 2011, as in the previous survey years, the following topics have been conducted:
