Fill from two features and a short stratigraphic column were submitted for pollen and
phytolith analysis from site 15SC183, located in Scott County, northern Kentucky, an area
found within the Inner Bluegrass physiographic region. This site is positioned within the
floodplain of Cane Run and consists of an intact living surface and/or midden within the alluvial
deposits along the stream. Radiocarbon dates and available diagnostic materials indicate an
occupation extending from the Early and Middle Fort Ancient periods (1000-1400 CE). The
goal of this current analysis is to provide additional plant subsistence information useful in the
interpretation of this site.
