Temperature-dependent in vitro infection of grass carp reovirus (GCRV) highlights 18 and 28 degree Celsius as critical temperatures for viral replication

Ctenopharyngodon idellus kidney (CIK) cells were seeded at 28 degree Celsius overnight and cultured at different temperatures (18, 23, 28, 33, and 38 degree Celsius) for 48 h for adaptation. Grass carp reovirus (GCRV) strain JX01 (genotype I) infections were then conducted, and cells were harvested at 12 h post infection. Total RNA was extracted and subjected to cDNA library construction. RNA sequencing was then executed using the NovaSeq 6000 platform (Illumina, USA) by Novogene (Beijing, China).
