Calf sepsis (colibacteriosis) is an acute infectious disease observed in newborn calves, mainly occurring in animals aged 1–8 days. The disease is caused by the microorganism Escherichia coli and is characterized by diarrhea, enteritis, septicemia, and general intoxication. This article analyzes the causes of the disease, clinical signs, pathoanatomical changes, as well as methods of treatment and prevention. In addition, the economic impact of the disease and the importance of vaccination in its prevention are highlighted.
