This dataset primarily contains traffic flow data for all directions at the Guangming Intersection on Pamir Road, Atushi. The data is collected by tallying vehicles entering and exiting the detection zone, and is utilized for real-time traffic signal scheduling based on the entry and exit records. Applications: 1. Providing raw data for subsequent re-division of traffic time periods, adjustment of period durations and optimization of green splits (defined as the ratio of green time allocated for vehicle passage within a signal cycle to the total cycle length) of current periods: 1) For workdays from Tuesday to Thursday: Divide traffic into segmented periods based on the ratio of the flow data of each direction in the previous two days to the designed saturation flow of the intersection. 2) For workdays on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Divide traffic into segmented periods based on the ratio of the flow data of each direction on the previous two Mondays to the designed saturation flow of the intersection. 2. Based on the flow data of each time period, lane time occupancy can be calculated, and lane space occupancy and headway can be estimated. 3. Providing data such as intersection traffic flow and lane occupancy required for traffic department decision-making. Data Sources: ① Traffic flow (i.e., total number of vehicles detected by flow loops): Outflow, left-turn and straight-going traffic volumes can be collected through software background monitoring, while inflow traffic volume must be calculated via measurement. ② Saturation flow (i.e., the maximum number of vehicles that can pass within 10 minutes): It is a fixed value based on prior measurement results. ③ Inflow and outflow traffic indices need to be calculated. Data Processing and Applications: Inflow traffic volume (a1) = left-turn traffic volume (a3) + straight-going traffic volume (a4) + right-turn traffic volume (a5); Outflow traffic volume (a2); Inflow traffic index = (a1 / 2724) * X; Outflow traffic index = (a2 / 2992) * X (where the value range of X is 1 to 3). When both the inflow and outflow traffic indices are ≤ 3, the traffic flow is within the normal range. When the indices exceed 3, analysis and judgment of traffic congestion need to be conducted based on different road sections and time periods, so as to provide reference for optimizing traffic light timing, improving traffic efficiency and supporting sustainable development.
