Dataset of mountain green cover index (SDG15.4.2) over the economic corridors of the Belt and Road Initiative for 2010-2019

Mountains ecosystem are undergoing widespread changes under the human activities and climate change. The protect and sustainable development of mountain ecosystems has been listed as the sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. As one of the indicators, the Mountain Green Cover Index (MGCI) datasets can provide consistent and comparable green vegetation status in support of mapping heterogeneous mountain ecosystems health and monitoring changes over time. The production of explicitly high spatial resolution MGCI datasets is therefore urgently needed due to the importance of improving the data at sub-national and multi-temporal scales. In this datasets, we focused on the economic corridors of Belt and Road Initiative and developed the datasets of MGCI for the region at 500m spatial resolution from 2010 to 2019.
