Identification, characterization and whole-genome sequencing of the Riemerella anatipestifer strain RA-NM

Riemerella anatipestifer, has emerged as a significant infectious disease affecting waterfowl farms. In this study, PCR and serological identification of RA-RM revealed it as a serotype 2 R. anatipestifer strain.Whole-genome sequencing revealed a single circular chromosome of 2,117,835 base pairs with a GC content of 35.02%. The genome harbored genes with an average length of 982 bp, including 9 rRNA operons, 40 tRNA genes, 14 CRISPR sequences, and 4 genomic islands. A total of 41 drug resistance genes were identified through resistance gene database analysis, with the highest representation of tetracycline resistance genes, followed by glycopeptide resistance genes and efflux pump-encoding genes.
