Here, we used an unbiased deep sequencing approach to analyze the characteristics of SIVmac239 viral stocks produced by UW Madsions' Virology Services. These stocks have been produced on a large scale to be used for multiple in vivo SIV studies. The SIVmac239 5' and 3' plasmids provided by the NIH AIDS Reagent Resource were transfected into 293 T cells. This rescued virus was then used to inoculate CD8 depleted PBMC isolated from rhesus macaques.
