Wood-forming tissue specific transcriptome analysis

To get an insight on the xylem cell fate specification, we performed a series of wood forming tissue-specific transcriptome analysis from a hybrid poplar (Populus alba × P. tremula var. glandulosa, clone BH) by using RNA-seq. Each cambium and xylem cells were isolated from vertical stem segments that represent a gradient of developmental stages with regard to secondary growth (i.e., immature, intermediate and mature stem).
