Dataset of the experimental data generated for the study “A screening of metal(loid) content in conventional and biodegradable plastic polymers: understanding the sources and the connected environmental risks” published on Environmental Pollution (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.envpol.2025.126364). This includes 2 different tabular files, which are listed below: Average digestion data Average concentration (in mg/kg, after three replicate analysis) of metal(loid)s in all the plastic samples analyzed in this study. Data below detection limits are listed as "<LOD". Columns indicate the sample name and all the concentrations of the metal(loid)s analyzed. FTIR spectra Fourier-transformed infrared (FTIR) spectra for every sample the raw data (scaled for the maximum absorbance value) of the spectrum is given. The first column indicates the different wavenumbers.
