Bike-sharing usage data were collected between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024 for the selected municipalities and systems: Cornellà de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, and Sant Boi de Llobregat in the Barcelona metropolitan area; Boadilla del Monte, Getafe, and Rivas-Vaciamadrid in the Madrid metropolitan area; and Monza, San Donato Milanese, and Bergamo in the Milan metropolitan area. Data was collected at two-minute intervals and it was automatically extracted from the official websites of the bike-sharing operators, which provide real-time information on bicycle and docking-point availability at each station. Data extraction, processing and storage were carried out using PHP scripts that automatically collected station-level information from each bike-sharing system website, organised the data and stored them in a MySQL database. The final dataset covers 159 stations monitored over one full year.
