Characterization of Ascaris-associated Microbiota and Its Impact on Host Microbial Communities During Larval Migration

Our study aims to contribute to the addressing of these gaps by characterizing the microbiota associated with different developmental stages of Ascaris and examining its impact on the host's microbiota during larval migration through the intestine, liver, and lungs in a murine model. By employing a metabarcoding approach through 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we seek to elucidate the dynamic changes in microbiota composition within the parasite and the host, providing a deeper understanding of the ecological and functional dynamics of helminth-microbiota interactions.
