Video observations of children in a preschool kindergarten class playing together over a two-year period. Videos were filmed by Martin Packer (Far West Laboratory for Educational Research and Development) at the playground of a kindergarten in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1980s. Packer contributed the videos to CHILDES, with several of the videos fully transcribed. Brian MacWhinney subssequently contributed the videos to Databrary. The video from each day focuses on one child who wore a tee-shirt with a wireless microphone sewn in. Thus, audio is enhanced. Further description of the content of the videos is in Packer’s paper presented to the John Piaget Society in 1993 (see Materials folder).
