Full genome sequence of 7 Ectromelia virus (ECTV) isolates and/or strains. ECTV isolates genome sequences

Ectromelia virus (ECTV) is the causative agent of mousepox, a smallpox-like disease of mice and a well-established model for poxviral pathogenesis. We have determined the complete genome sequence of ECTV isolates that caused outbreaks in laboratory mouse colonies worldwide, ECTV strains attenuated after serial passage in cell culture or embryonated chicken eggs, and an ECTV isolate collected from a field mouse.
