This study aimed to evaluate the presence of environmental reservoirs of potentially pathogenic vibrios, the first report of isolation and molecular characterization of V. mimicus in the aquatic environment of Argentina was described by next generation sequencing (NGS) of the complete genome and deepened the search for genes of epidemiological interest, such as virulence factors and antibiotic resistance genes; in order to provide information about the possible pathogenic potential of this species.
