Citizen Pscientist Dataset

The data supports the Citizen Pscientist study validating patient-reported physician-given psoriasis diagnosis. The study aimed to assess the validity of psoriasis diagnosis among individuals in the online crowd-sourced research network for psoriatic patients (Citizen Pscientist), which was created by the National Psoriasis Foundation. Psoriasis diagnosis was validated through an established process including examination of medical records, receiving written statements from the patient's provider, and/or a phone conversation between the study dermatologist and the patient's provider. Gender, age, provider specialty, and method of confirmation were recorded for each participant. A total of 75 (66%) had psoriasis diagnosed by board-certified dermatologists, 30 (28%) had psoriasis diagnosed by providers other than board-certified dermatologists including primary care physicians (16), rheumatologists (12), and nurse practitioners (2).
