Corvus splendens (House Crow) Transcriptome profiling

House crow is omnivorous scavenger that consume nearly everything, like human refuse, fruits, grains, nuts, insects, worms, eggs, small mammals, scraps, carrion or carcasses. For animals, scavenging a carcass or carrion needs a sturdy stomach, healthy digestion and immune systems. Production of antimicrobial peptides and proteins is an important means of host defense in most organisms. The present study involves transcriptome profiling to identify antimicrobial peptides and immune related genes.
