资源简介:
The Social Mobility in Australia Project had three major objectives. Firstly, to replicate the 1965 baseline study of Australian stratification and mobility (refer to ADA Study No. 00007). Secondly, to broaden the understanding of social mobility and social stratification in Australia beyond the fairly restricted findings of the 1965 baseline, not only by including more details on family background, education and class images, but also by including women as respondents in their own right. And thirdly, to maximise the possibilities for comparison with both the first and second generations of national surveys in other countries. This survey represents the Female sample. Some of the questions asked included whether the respondent had ever lived on a farm; their job prospects, intentions and preferences; the comparison of their job to other females; perceptions of society, social classes and class ideology; their employment history, together with occupational history details pertaining to the respondent's father and any children aged 21 years and over. Background variables include age, birthplace, birthdate, marital status, home ownership, household structure, income, party preference, religion, trade union membership, job satisfaction, and retirement.
