VPRS 6043 Premier's Department 'WB' Series

This series consists of files relating to Victorias Key Point Defence arrangements. The Commonwealth Department of Defences Key Points Intelligence Branch was responsible for the Victorian Civil Key Points List. Sites were chosen as key points for reasons such as vulnerability, importance of their contribution to the war effort or the maintenance of community life in an emergency. The Key Points List was developed further to the principles of the Commonwealth War Book (which is presumably the source of the series titles WB), one of which was that all of Australias key points were to be protected in the event of war.The files contain correspondence and attachments between the agency and the Commonwealth Department of Defence, and copies of amendments to the Victorian Civil Key Points List.
