This feature layer was created to make the map (Smith Mills Dam Map) that is used in a StoryMap (Removal of Smith Mills Dam) that guides viewers through a complex dam removal project from start to finish. </span><span style='font-family:"Avenir Next W01", "Avenir Next W00", "Avenir Next", Avenir, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-size:16px;'>Smith Mills dam is located along Silver Creek in the Town of Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York. The project was a collaboration between the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District, Village of Silver Creek, Town of Hanover, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from the Lower Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office.
