The opportunistic human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa can cause both acute and chronic infections. To investigate P. aeruginosa gene expression during the chronic-to-acute transition, we obtained its transcriptomes before and after the addition of glycoside hydrolases (GH) or cis-2-decenoic acid (cis-DA) in mouse chronic wounds. Both GH and cis-DA can induce systemic dissemination, mimicking chronic-to-acute transition.
