Power and Interest scores for stakeholders in research data management

To estimate the power and interest of each stakeholder group, a survey was conducted among RDM professionals, including data stewards, data managers, and librarians. Respondents were asked to rate the power and interest of various stakeholder groups on a scale from 0 (low) to 10 (high). A total of 95 responses were collected (Thanks for participating!), with 45 participants providing complete ratings for all 14 stakeholder groups (the dataset is available for reference). The survey participants were primarily recruited through national RDM networks, mailing lists, and professional community meetings, with the majority being RDM professionals affiliated with German academic institutions. However, a small number of respondents from other European institutions also contributed, offering additional perspectives from the broader European research landscape. The sample draws from a broad and diverse cross-section of practitioners across institutional roles and contexts, providing valuable insights into RDM engagement. For compliance and data protection reasons, and to avoid any administrative delays, the survey focused solely on rating the power and interest of stakeholders; no personally identifying or demographic data—such as age, institutional affiliation, discipline, or organizational unit—were collected from participants.
