资源简介:
This dataset was compiled as part of a systematic review aimed at evaluating the apical and coronal sealing ability of Resilon compared to gutta-percha in root canal obturation. The central hypothesis guiding the review was that Resilon, due to its thermoplastic properties and capacity to bond with methacrylate-based sealers, may provide superior sealing performance relative to gutta-percha. The data reflect extracted information from 27 eligible in vitro and clinical studies that met predefined inclusion criteria. Each record includes the study design, sample size, methods for leakage assessment (e.g., dye penetration, fluid filtration, bacterial infiltration), comparative materials used, and the main outcomes related to sealing effectiveness. Additionally, details on whether the study addressed apical or coronal leakage separately are included. Notable findings across the dataset include a trend toward improved sealing properties with Resilon in several in vitro models, although results were not universally consistent. The dataset allows for comparative analysis by leakage type, sealing method, and material. All data were independently extracted by two reviewers and cross-checked for accuracy. Discrepancies were resolved by consensus. The dataset was cleaned and structured in Microsoft Excel and exported to RStudio for descriptive analysis. Data are fully anonymized and publicly available to support transparency and reusability in accordance with open science principles. Researchers can use this dataset to replicate the review findings, perform secondary analyses, or integrate it into broader meta-research on endodontic obturation materials.
