Polyethylene terephthalate microplastics generated from disposable water bottles induce interferon signalling pathway in mouse lung epithelial cells FE1 cells were treated with two types of commercial microplastics (100 nm polystyrene (PS) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) ) and two types of in-lab generated microplastics (polyethylene terephthalate (PETE) and polypropylene (PP-TW)) at 0, 12.5, 25 and 50 mg/mL concentrations. Cells were harvested and pelleted after 48 h exposure to microplastics. Total RNA was extracted from pelleted cells for microarray experiments.
