The goal of this study is to identify genes within the blueberry transcriptome that are differentially expressed during flower style infection by Monilinia vaccinii-corymbosi and subsequent progression of the disease cycle during fruit development. Using this data, we will have a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind mummy berry disease, one of the worst diseases affecting blueberries. This data may be used for comparison with other datasets relating to fungal diseases of food crops, and in particular those that develop by means of flower infection and/or have a hemibiotrophic causal pathogen. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of data of this type.
