The Study of Forest Therapy and Tour Design in Taiwan Following Satoyama Initiative (2/3)

Satoyama contains a mixture landscape of communities, forests and agriculture. In addition to agricultural and forestry production, it also provides a variety of biological habitats and many other services of ecosystem. In recent years, as the population aging and the need of preventive medicine, Satoyama ecosystems provide the new service, forestry therapy. In this year’ project, the forest environment, trail, experiential tour and interpretation were well-designed to display the therapy function of forest. The experimental area, Liehuachih, was made an inventory of all kinds of local resources, and activities for therapy were designed. After twice of activities and questionnaire surveys, the tour designs were calibrated for better effects of therapy. The main purposes are promoting people health, local industrial development, and offering the therapy function of forest.
