Micro-hyperspectral imaging spectra of three Japanese bast fibers (Kozo, Mitsumata, Gampi) for non-destructive species discrimination
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains processed reflectance spectra acquired by micro-hyperspectral imaging (Micro-HSI) from three traditional Japanese bast fiber species: Kozo (Broussonetia papyrifera), Mitsumata (Edgeworthia chrysantha), and Gampi (Wikstroemia sikokiana). Six pure paper specimens per species were analyzed, with ten regions of interest (ROIs) sampled from each specimen, yielding 60 individual ROI spectra per class (180 spectra in total). Spectra were acquired using a push-broom hyperspectral camera (NH-9, EBA Japan) mounted on an upright metallurgical microscope at 50× magnification, covering 350–1100 nm at 5 nm spectral resolution. The spectral window was subsequently restricted to 400–1000 nm based on coefficient of variation analysis. Preprocessing steps applied: (1) dynamic normalization (per-spectrum scaling to maximum reflectance); (2) Savitzky–Golay first-derivative filtering (window: 9 points, polynomial order: 2); (3) Z-score standardization. This dataset was generated for the study: [Non-Destructive Species Discrimination of Japanese Bast Fibers: A Feasibility Study Using Micro-Hyperspectral Imaging and Chemometrics], submitted to NDT (MDPI), 2026.
