资源简介:
Background: TBI are early predictors of poor clinical outcomes. Centella asiatica (L.) has neuroprotective, neurogenerative, anti – inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. This study aimed to determine the effect of Centella asiatica (L.) extract on serum levels of IL – 6 and IL – 10 in TBI model mice.
Methods: Experimental research design. There were 4 groups with male rat (Rattus norvegicus) subjects of the Wistar strain of the TBI model which were divided into 1 control group and 3 treatment groups cantella extract dose 300 mg/ kg BW (body weight), 500 mg/ kg BW and 1000 mg/ kg BW. TBI model rats were manufactured using the Weight Drop Injury method. Cantella asiatica (L.) extract was administered once a day for 3 days. On the 4th day, blood was collected and serum levels of IL – 6 and IL – 10 were measured using ELISA.
Results: There was a significant increase in the serum levels of IL – 6 and IL - 10 (p < 0.05) in the treatment group in accordance with an increase in the number of doses compared to the control group. The highest serum IL – 6 level of 5,684 pg/ mL was obtained by the administration of 1000 mg/kg BW extract, and the highest serum IL – 10 level of 147,235 pg/mL was obtained by the administration of 1000 mg/kg BW of Cantella asiatica (L.) extract.
Conclusions: Administration Cantella asiatica (L.) extract increased IL – 6 and IL – 10 levels in traumatic brain injury rats.
