Explanatory note on variable names for files in the section ‘Coordinate data for each track’.<br> These files contain the radar track data on bee flights that underpin the publication: Woodgate JL, Makinson JC, Lim KS, Reynolds AM, Chittka L. Flights were defined as the movements undertaken by a bee between leaving the nest and subsequently returning again. The radar revolves once every 3s and records a positional fix if a signal from a transponder is detected during each rotation. Each row of each file describes a single positional fix. <br>Full descriptions of each variable can be found in the file 'Explanatory note on variable names Coordinate data.docx'.Each file contains: Bee ID; date and timestamps; coordinates of bee position in polar coordinates centred on the radar, cartesian coordinates centred on the nest position, and GPS coordinates (estimated from the radar data); distance traveled; ground speed.
