Whole genome resequencing data provide novel insights into species delimitation of the Camellia sect. Thea (Theaceae)

Species of Camellia sect. Thea has substantial economic importance, yet species delimitation within the section is ongoing debated. In this study, we collected 98 accessions representing all but one species in C. sect. Thea to investigate species delimitation through whole genome sequencing (WGS) data. We assembly the complete plastid genome and 794 high-quality single-copy nuclear orthologous genes (SCNs) to assess species discrimination.
