Adaptation of birds to the highland via microbiota

Comparative analysis of microbiota diversity and function among birds at different altitudes are less investigated. Here we mainly focused on the only high-altitude crane species, Black-necked crane (Grus nigricollis, BNC) and its other six relatives, who are typically inhibiting in low-altitude environments.
