Physical and chemical measurements from CTD Niskin collected depth profiles in the East Greenland Current during February 2025.

Physical, chemical and biogeochemical oceanographic properties were measured using sensors and water samples in February 2025 during a research cruise in the sub-polar North Atlantic, aboard the RV Kronprins Haakon. A SeaBird 911 CTD-rosette with attached Niskin bottles were used to collect samples for nutrients (silicate, phosphate, nitrite, nitrate) as well as dissolved organic carbon and total dissolved nitrogen. The water samples will be used to investigate how overturning processes in the Nordic Seas inject vast amounts of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) into the deep ocean. The organisations contributing to these datasets are the School of Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton, the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) under the NERC Grant Reference NE/Y002709/1.
