Canadian Gallup Poll, December 1982, #468_1

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political issues. The questions ask opinions about political leaders and political issues within the country. There are also questions on other topics of interest and importance to the country and government, such as wages; women who work and future financial prospects. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic and social variables. Topics of interest include: accepting lower wages; the best political party to handle problems; Canada's most important problem; changing economic situations; changing wages; comparing household finances; cruise missile negotiations; the declining role of the husband; the effects of working women on the family; household financial prospects; opinions about Broadbent as NDP leader; opinions about Clark as leader of the Conservative party; opinions about cruise missile testing; opinions about Trudeau as Prime Minister; phrases that apply to Broadbent; phrases that apply to Clark; phrases that apply to Trudeau; political predictions; and the Queen abdicating to Prince Charles. Basic demographic variables are also included.
