Daily river flow measurements and ERA5-Land climate data in the Severn river basin, UK (1985–2024)

Dataset description This dataset contains daily river flow measurements and climatic reanalysis data in the Severn river basin (England and Wales) between 1 January 1985 to 15 October 2024. 1. River flow Daily mean gauged flow (m³ s⁻¹) is provided for the following stations. The flow data were obtained from the Defra/Environment Agency Hydrology Data API (https://environment.data.gov.uk/hydrology/doc). Climate data The climate variables are obtained from the ERA5-Land hourly reanalysis (0.1° × 0.1° grid, about 9 km) by the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) Climate Data Store (https://doi.org/10.24381/cds.e2161bac). For each station, the variables were spatially averaged over the ERA5-Land grid cells covering the total basin. The hourly values were meanly averaged to give daily values.
