Mangroves represent a promising source for bioprospecting microbial enzymes due the unique conditions, such as high salt content and fluctuations of oxic/anoxic conditions. Here, we used two approaches to evaluate xylanase and α-amylase: i) screening from a metagenomic library and ii) microbial target isolation for xylanase. Through screening from a metagenomic library, were obtained 3 potentially xylanolytic clones. These clones were sequenced; reads were assembled into contigs, and further annotated. Phylogenetic analysis of contig MgrBr135 was affiliated to Planctomycetaceae family
