Transcript of Interview with Ben Ormerod

This dataset is transcript of a semi-structured interview with Lighting Designer Ben Ormerod on the subject of dramaturgy and lighting design. The interview was conducted as part of Anthony Arbaster's PhD Towards a Light Dramaturgy at the University of York. The project website is available at phd.anthonyarblaster.com.

Ben Ormerod is an international lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera. He has lit shows for the Royal National Theatre of England, the Royal Shakespeare Company, in the West End and on Broadway. Opera includes The Ring Cycle (Longborough Festival) and La traviata (ENO). Dance includes work for Ballet Gulbenkian, Candoco and Ballet Geneva. Musicals include Zorro (London/Paris/Tokyo/Amsterdam/Atlanta) and Mrs Henderson Presents (London). He is also Lighting Consultant for the Calico Museum of Textiles.
