class 3 integron

This project is performed to clarify the genetic environment of metallo-beta-lacatamase (MBL) genes, especially class 3 integron. Although, there are many reports about the association between class 1 integron and MBL genes, a few evidence was found abut class 3 integron. To date, only two articles are found that describe the association between class 3 integron and MBL gene. One study was reported by Arakawa, et al. in 1995 and another study was reported by Papagiannitsis, et al. in 2015. We conduct the whole genome sequence analysis to clarify the molecular epidemiology of MBL producing Gram-negative bacilli that harbor class 3 integron in Japan.
