X-ray burstaroosquestionMark XMM observations of bursting neutron stars

We propose 30 ks XMMNewton observations of three neutron stars which emitregular bursts of pulsed radio emission. How these bursting neutron stars fitinto pulsar emission phenomenology is currently unclear. They share somecharacteristics with moding pulsars, in particular PSR B0943+10 which wasrecently shown to switch between two emission states at radio and Xraywavelengths. Together with radio observations using the GBT and otherinstruments, these observations will help establish whether bursting pulsarsshow correlated changes in their Xray emission and allow us to directly comparethe emission physics of bursting and moding emission in neutron stars. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
