We developed a transcriptional score (RNAge) to compare young and old primary fibroblasts, as well as frontal cortex and substantia nigra tissue. While iPSC reprogramming reset RNAge in fibroblasts, direct reprogramming of aged fibroblasts into induced neurons (iNs) preserved both neuronal and fibroblast aging signatures.
