Consonant Weight and Duration Data

资源简介:
Moraic Theory posits that segmentally identical rhymes can differ between languages in how their segments associate to units of weight called morae. While the mora is proposed as a phonological unit of weight, previous research has found differing patterns of vowel duration between different types of syllables in different languages corresponding to the model of mora assignment proposed for each language. This data is part of an investigation into whether a similar effect is present for consonants, collected to compare segment durations between different positions in a rhyme and different types of rhymes in each of English, Hindi, and Levantine Arabic.
