Cocaine-dependent genome-wide effects were analyzed, total RNAs were extracted from ventral striatum tissue punches and processed for RNA-seq analyses. Overall design: Circadian expression of striatal genes after an acute cocaine challenge, WT and iMSN-D2RKO mice received an i.p. injection of either cocaine (Coc, 20 mg/kg) or saline (Sal) shortly after the beginning of the resting phase (zeitgeber time, ZT3). Animals from both groups were sacrificed every 4 hours (n=3/time point) and punches of ventral striatum collected at six time points over a full circadian cycle
