Green Point Creek, Pearl Beach Floodplain Management Study

The Green Point Creek system has been divided into component areas for application of a floodplain\r\nmanagement plan. The component areas, illustrated on Figure 13, cover:\r\n\r\n* Tourmaline Avenue Floodway Area;\r\n* Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area;\r\n* Crystal Avenue Floodway;\r\n* Tourmaline Avenue Culvert Area - currently flood-liable; and\r\n* Diamond - Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area.\r\n\r\nThe specific points applied in each of the above areas involve:\r\n\r\n* land use controls;\r\n* building development controls;\r\n* limited channel erosion protection under government funding;\r\n* the bulk of channel erosion protection by land owner finance; and\r\n* structural works, as outlined above with Tourmaline Avenue culvert replacement,\r\nfloodplain restoration and acquisition of one house.
