URBANE - WP5 - Database for pest detection using smart traps.

The dataset includes insect population data collected by smart traps under the scope of the URBANE project. The type of trap used to capture the insects is a yellow sticky trap which is processed by an edge device that utilizes a machine learning model that detects insects. The insects are counted daily and the population detected contains ALL insects and not the new ones. To get a clear indicator of the population change, you would need to calculate the difference across days resetting the counter when there is a decrease in the population, which would indicate that the farmer has changed the yellow sticky trap. It is recommended to to allow for a small error margin, as in some cases insect can degrade if the yellow sticky trap is not changed often resulting in features of the insect being lost and becoming non detectable. The dataset includes the following fields. Timestamp: Date and time the device recorded the run, not necessarily equal to the same as sample collection time. insectId: The unique ID assigned to the insect insect: The name of the insect (common name) smartTrapId: The unique ID assigned to the smart trap trapLatitude: Latitude of the smart trap. trapLongitude: Longitude of the smart trap. population: The population recorded.
